Our Story

House of Peace came into being after a big tragedy in a Christian Church in 1985, in Lahore Pakistan. It was the era of Al-Qaida and Talban in Pakistan and neighboring countries. A suicide bomber entered in a church and blow up himself, killing and injuring many people, a Pakistani-American Pastor, Rev. Afzaal Firdous, an Ordained Methodist Pastor was visiting that area those days. He had a vision to support the orphaned children who had lost either one or both parents, Afzaal met with the Pastor of the attacked Church and shared his vision. A committee was formed and 28 girls and boys, one and a half years old Nishmaima to 15 yeas old Obaid were found who’s relatives or grandparents were not in a capacity to raise them. Afzaal registered a non-prophet in Pakistan, returned back to his church in the USA, and formed a 501 C (3) and got it registered with the State of Texas, with a Board of Directors working for The HOUSE of Peace, Inc.
